Well here we are again this week I've finished off my French Cuirassiers I'm not all that happy with then really even though they look better than the picture show, but i did make a few basic mistakes firstly i glued the riders into their saddles before painting but the detail is so fine that i found it hard to paint and i'm not happy with the way the faces turned out later on i hope to replace them with metals so they will do until then.
Very cool, you do paint a lovely blue there Kent!
ReplyDeleteThey look excellent to me and the basing is first rate. Well done.
ReplyDeleteNice job...
ReplyDeleteDon't be so perfectionist! Who's going to care about details once on the table, in the heat of battle???
ReplyDeleteI think they look very, very nice. Actually, for what its worth, I've always glued the riders to the mounts first. I find that if you then prime black, or paint the 'join' between rider and saddle black, it looks quite natural as it is all in shadow anyway. It also gives a good join for the glue as you're not gluing paint-on-paint.
ReplyDeleteGood work!
