28mm Saloon and start of next SYW commission

Well since i finished the DBA army for Dave i though i'd organise a game of Cowboys down at the club mid week only thing is i haven't finished enough builds yet so yesterday i built the saloon and today had enough time to build the Land registery building. Then my daughter thought she would watch high school musical so i put on the first coat of flesh paint and then the first wash on Regs Austrian infantry and cav this time there are 24 light infantry 24 musketeers 12 hussars and 3 command figures, I've decided to do a blow by blow breakdown of how they are painted with pictures this time around on all the units might take a while to put together but should be fun oh and i also started 30 or more German infantry also with first coat of skin and one of wash

As you can see there is still a bit of work to do fix up where the  green paint has gone wrong and paint the roof and the odd other bit but i like the rustic look , it is the wild west

It actually started to rain as i was spray painting the undercoat but i just got it done in time
now i need to find time to paint it

has a picture of Regs SYW Austrains ready for there first wash of the day

15mm Kushan Ancient Indian c. 200AD DBA army

This is a commmission job that i did for Dave a really interesting army to paint the figures had quite nice detail. It was the first time that i have painted an elephant and i quite enjoyed it. It took me approx 10 hours to paint and finish them, there was a lot of fine detail painting.  So now onto some more 28mm Austrians and 10 Panzer IV H flames of war I've also ordered a box of stugs as well.

Games and painting but no camera

On Sunday i played a large game of flames of war 6500 pts on our side 6000  on the German what a game in two and half hours we were completely destroy almost to a man it was brutal I lost all my armour and a good portion of my 16 guns ( photos from the big day ) Man what a fun time it was , It's not about winning its about freinds getting together for a great time.  And it was just that.
Other than that I've finished 25, Ecw 28mm warlord games cavalry but sadly my daughter has taken my camera away with her for a week and the customer will be picking them up a day before she returns.
Today i spent about two and half hours on Daves Ancient indian army this is my second day of painting and they are starting to look like they should most figures are 90% complete except for the heavy cav which still has quite a way to go, still a bit of finishing on the elephant and some shield designs, I've also based and undercoated 56, 28mm German ww2 infantry and washed and deflashed 48, 28mm front rank Austrians and 3 command cav figures so i can carry on with Reg's syw army. I'm looking forward to starting the hanovarians, So all in all things are progressing quite well will hopefully have my camera back friday so will get a few picture up. Hope alls going well with everyone.

28mm Ecw command figure

As i was doing the 12 Ecw cav yesterday i remembered that i also had 1 command figure as well so here he is even though i still have a bit to do on the last 12 cav, they should be finished some time tomorrow as i have another fow game tonight against Craig he's still testing his army for the champs. Even though i don't like the warlord games plastics this metal from them is real nice with great detail. As i said in my last update i don't get to base these guys. Richard will do that when he gets them.

Ecw cavalry finished first batch

The cav that i was working on the other day i finished last night i'm quite happy with them it's a hard one because Richard wanted them to look like the last lot of figures i painted for him which was nearly two years ago and my style has completely changed since then, not quite sure if they will completely blend in but i hoppe that he will be happy, today i'll find time to glue the next batch together. I'm not basing these as Richard likes to base his own and has quite a large collection that these will be added to.
