28mm Perry minatures crusaders started

 this is the first post to do with a new army that I'm starting I know next to nothing about this period so i guest i'll either learn along the way or make heaps of mistakes which i hope you'll tell me about, no matter what i know that i'm going to have heaps of fun painting them.

I've decided not to wait till the end and they are all nice neat and finished but to post updates of where I'm at hope you like. as you can see there's a long long way to go yet.

As you can see I've finished this unit and am now working on my next job

well not job as i have decided to do some of my own work which i will start to post tomorrow

Even though i finished these guys yesterday i couldn't bring myself to put them up with all that is happening just up the road, but here they are today

I've finished painting Reg's next batch of Hussars which he wanted me to paint the same as the last lot I've actually based them ready for painting tomorrow and then grassing. I've added to new colours to my horses as i decided there wasn't enough colour variation in them so I've added a darker brown and a redder horse.

6.3 Earth quake

A  6.3 quake hit Christchurch around 12.50 this afternoon with wide spread damage and loss of life we are 2 hours down the road and man where i was  rattled and rolled it was scary here let alone up in christchurch there have been quite a few decent after shocks at least two at 5 rolled through this afternoon. I haven't had a chance to contact friends yet as the lines are overloaded. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in Christchurch.

As most who follow this blog will know I'm in the midst of a large ongoing syw commission for Reg I'm working on another batch of Hussars at the moment which i'll put a progress shot at the bottom of the page, but in the mail turned up these six wee blocks and i couldn't help myself so i painted and based them yesterday as i had taken the day off work to paint, sadly i only managed half a day but still managed to do quite a bit so here they are Von Kleist Croat band they are to be used in a scenerio where they anoy the hell out of the other side who send an expidition to silence the Croats one way or another.

And here is how i'm going on the hussars in the background you can see the stan i'm trying to match which i have previously do for Reg

 I've finally finished the camo work still needs some work on the numbering (red inside the white numbers. i had a bit of a mess with the transfers) and i', going to add soem foilage as well to finish them

I've still painting the Panzer IV they will have the same camo as these stugs which still have a wee way to go but e are now starting to head down the right track. Sorry the photo isn't very good the sun had gone down.

Yhings have been a bit slow here very busy with life, I have been slowly working away on a few things so hope to have some more pics up soon.

I finished these guys yesterday and started on the next batch of Hussars which Reg wants painted the same as the last. I've almost completed the horses. It took me a while to complete these guys as my nights have been quite full and i've also been working on me Panzer Iv's and stugs as our Day of days comp is not to far off, i also have to have two tables ready. So anyway i hope you like the finished figures. I will be also putting the pictures into the SYW gallery to the at the right hand side of the table.

SO Hot 41 degrees

Man it was so hot, I sat down to paint but the temperature was so high the paint was drying before i could do the work and i couldn't think properly so the work will just have to wait It's now 8.15 pm and it's still 22 degrees. I was hoping to get some pics up but sorry have done anything will try and get some up tomorrow cheers

Panzer IV slow progress

after messing them up i've decided to do another coat of base paint over the wash to brighten them up then i will weather them a bit might do a thin wash yet haven't made up my mind man its been a long time since i last paint tanks need some practise. I'm up for suggestions guys as i know there are some great Flames of war painters out there
