These were my last entries into the Analogue Painting comp which Ray Won, a big well done
I had a feeling that he was going to get there in the end. What a great challenge I painted a huge amount of figures, but with my painting style and doing 28's against 15's it was going to be hard work, I'm really happy with what i was able to achieve. I now head back to my normal painting life of doing mainly commission work and my figures will once again head to the back of my cupboard. I didn't manage to clean out the cupboard but man did i make a dent in it. A big thanks to Curt who put on the challenge and to all who took part and made it as much fun as it was, some great painters out there see you next year.
Nice looking figures and well done on an impressive amount figures you painted.
ReplyDeleteI envy your collection of western figures. Beautiful painting! Plus, I think I found John Wayne on his horse in the 5th picture-far right.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting Kent, I think your right about the 25's, if you'd have painted 15's you probably would have doubled your score and been unbeatable. After you started to run away with the comp, I was happy to play for 2nd place, but after adding up the points I'd get for the Russian infantry and realising I'd be pretty close to your score I thought I'd go for it. Your also right about the dent in unpainted lead, what a great way to get you to paint your own figures!!
ReplyDeleteGreat effort and great results!
ReplyDeleteSuperb effort, Kent. It was a pleasure having you in the Challenge.
ReplyDeleteIf I run it again next year I will probably tweak the point structure so it relates better between scales. Nonetheless, kudos to you for running a 28mm race!
Best,
Curt
Kent, you did wonders in the contest. I was in awe of not just you but many of the painters in the challenge. I enjoyed what you brought to the table and will continue to follow with interst.
ReplyDeleteNext year I think I would aim for 1000 points or to put it another way less than a quarter of what you did!!!!!
Ian
You did an amazing amount of figures and I have no idea how any of you guys can pull that off and still do such a good job of painting. And these cowboys came out really nice. A lot of people are envying you right now.
ReplyDeleteA tremendous effort and the quality of what you produced remained consistently high throughout the competition. Excellent work Sir!
ReplyDeletevery good work on funny figures! I like them!
